Episode 5: London Travel Guide

Today we are excited to talk about one of our favorite International locations - London, UK. For us, London is one of those places we can visit over and over again never doing the same thing twice, unless we want to. If you’ve been to London before, don’t worry, we are going to have some tips that will benefit whether this is your first visit or if you have been multiple times before. So pack your bags, grab your passport and let’s get started on visiting London.

Hotels we recommend in the vicinity of Paddington Station

This time we stayed at London Marriott Hotel Marble Arch

We've also stayed at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, which is right across from Green Park and near Buckingham Palace and close to the Green Park Underground Station.

The first time we visited London we purchased the London City Pass by Go City which offers really great value for seeing a number of the attractions we recommend.

Kew Gardens

Afternoon Tea locations

Fortnum & Mason - I love Fortnum & Mason tea so this was the perfect experience for me.  Book online and come hungry as you can get a refill of anything you want.

Bucket List Tea - The Ritz

Claridges

Harrods Afternoon Tea - pair this with a visit to this iconic department store - we actually had dinner at the Pizzeria & Pasqua located on the 2nd floor this last visit and really enjoyed it!

There are afternoon teas in most hotels and in a lot of hotel restaurants including the famous Ivy with several locations in London and more opening in towns surrounding London such as Windsor and Richmond.

Other Recommended Tours - as mentioned in several episodes we have booked lots of tours through Viator in several destinations around the world including Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and have used them to book cruise excursions.  We have partnered with Viator to bring you the following links.  If you book using these links we may receive a small commission that helps us to provide you with this travel content.

Inside London

Harry Potter fans might enjoy the Harry Potter London Tour.  We saw some people on this tour in Leadenhall Market, the location of the Leaky Cauldron in the first movie.

Outside London

We are planning another episode for outside London but some of our favorite places are listed below.  We have either taken the train or had a car and explored them on our own but I've know lots of people to take them as day trips as a part of a tour to make logistics easier. Some of these tours combine more than one of these locations.

Windsor

Stonehenge

The Cotswolds

Bath
