Episode 23 - How to Handle Travel Disruptions

Our Tips for Handling Travel Disruptions

  1. Add in travel butter time especially if making other connections or meeting a cruise or tour.
  2. Pack Essentials in a carry on in case of lost or delayed luggage.  Be sure to pack essential toiletries, chargers, medicines and supplements, a change of clothes, and swimsuit if needed.
  3. There’s no doubt that its frustrating so complain and get it out of your system (but don’t take it out anyone personally) and then move on and try to make lemonade out of lemons. Ask yourself, what can I do instead or what can I do while I wait to turn this into a travel memory.
  4. Be sure to understand what your travel insurance or travel credit cards cover and what documentation you’ll need so you can get it right then or find out where to get it from.  If in doubt, call and ask or call the insurance company or credit card.
  5. Don’t be afraid to ask the airline what compensation your are entitled to for lost or delayed luggage, missed flights, etc.
