If you're one of those people or have one in your life, today's episode is going to be packed with some great gift ideas that can enhance your travel experiences. Melissa, let's share some of the things that we have in our bags that we think would make great holiday gifts.
00:01:14 SPEAKER_00
Yeah. So we had a lot of fun coming up with this list and, and unfortunately I think this episode is costing you quite a bit of money because I was like, Oh, I need to update this and get this and stuff like that too. So, but also the things
00:01:29 SPEAKER_01
that we're going to talk about are actually things that we do use.
00:01:34 SPEAKER_00
Oh, yes, absolutely. Yeah. Things that we do use currently, but just then saying, Oh, I want to kind of like update this and see, you know, like what's new on the market. We did upgrade to the new iPhone. Um, and that has its own set of challenges, right? Because then you have to have your new cords and your new chargers. And so actually there were some things like that you have used for a while that I was like, Oh, Hey, I'd like to have one of those. So we'll talk about that.
00:01:58 SPEAKER_01
Yeah. So let's start with the things that you have in your bag that you find to be essential for travel.
00:02:03 SPEAKER_00
So then the very first thing is several years ago, you bought me like a leather laptop. Well, it was really for my iPad at the time, but it fits a laptop like a MacBook laptop as well. But it's just a nice like camel colored. Leather sleeve and so it would be nice and so that would be an excellent gift for somebody You know a student or a traveler or anybody just need to carry a laptop anywhere, but it's great for travel I do put it in my padded backpack, but it just helps extra protection, but it just
00:02:35 SPEAKER_01
looks nice So that's got a little place up top to store your pencil your Apple pencil or you know if you're gonna use it with another you know type of tablet or whatever the the pencil that you use to write on it and That goes right
00:02:49 SPEAKER_00
in there. Yes. So I think that's just a nice because it just looks nice as well. And then now this, the second one is something that I use every day, but it is something that I think is invaluable for travel. So I guess when I got my last iPhone, I went with the mag safe, case and then the MagSafe like pop socket that goes on the back of it, but we found the one that has the wallet. So we'll fit four cards, three cards really comfortably, but it's great. I have
00:03:25 SPEAKER_01
five in mine.
00:03:26 SPEAKER_00
Oh, you have five in yours. Okay. So there you go. So it will fit five cards comfortably. But I think I'd started using it like that for travel. So I usually keep like an ID and a debit card and a credit card. But then if you're going to go somewhere like it's a great you can add you know, you can put your room key I just do like put my my license in between because you're supposed to keep it away from your credit cards. But if we're going to Disney like it's good for you know, the other cards and season passes and stuff like that So I started out I think doing it for travel and now I use it like that all the time and it's just kind of Simplified my routine and then I keep something in my bag, you know with with other cards But the ones that I want to keep with me and so I just like have a bunch of extra stuff So between that that case and so it's again. It's a nice leather looking I think the new ones more like of a like a, I don't know, how would you describe it? It's said like cloth, but it's not really cloth. It's, I don't
00:04:22 SPEAKER_01
know, it actually
00:04:23 SPEAKER_00
looks like leather. Some kind of woven. Yeah, some kind of woven. So it's not leather, but it looks, it looks like leather. And then, and then that with that. And it's, I just pop it off. Very easy to pop off for charging. And I feel like it has a tight fit. And then having that pop socket, you can just pop out for like pictures and selfies and stuff like that. Cause you know, that's kind of our signature thing is to take our selfies for our cover photos and have our have our little video. So that to me is a must. I love
00:04:52 SPEAKER_01
those. And just the, you know, usage of your phone, it gives you something to grasp on to while you're, you know, scrolling with your phone. So the pop socket pops out. So while you're doing it, you have, you know, something that slides in between your fingers and helps stabilize the phone. And then when you get ready to just put it in your pocket, the pop socket collapses in and it goes into your pocket and not really a bunch of extra, you know, whip being added to your phone so that it gets stuck in your jeans and stuff like that. I agree. I enjoy mine very much and I find it very helpful in travel because sometimes I'll carry a wallet as well, but you know, often you have your phone handy and so it's just real easy to get that, get access to that ID or that card or whatever that you need for while you're traveling.
00:05:40 SPEAKER_00
Yeah. So again, travel and every day, and this would be a great gift for somebody who, you know, doesn't always have their cards with them and, you know, doesn't always have their ID and just needs a little help getting
00:05:50 SPEAKER_01
organized. Did we say inexpensive as well?
00:05:53 SPEAKER_00
Yeah, I mean, it's not like the cheapest case on the market, but they last a very long time. That's the other thing. Let's make this
00:06:01 SPEAKER_01
clear, though. The case is something that you have, and then the PopSocket wallet is something totally different. And you don't have to have the case that you have in order to use the PopSocket wallet. It's just a really nice phone case that you have. that does the MagSafe, but any MagSafe phone case will work with that pop socket wallet. Oh, that's true. So
00:06:22 SPEAKER_00
you could do just like you could do a plastic one. But in my case, I'm just saying like this one looks nice, but then it has like a quite a bit of a function as well. So that's true. So I highly recommend that. And then that kind of leads me into the next thing is that I have really started carrying most of the time but then definitely for travel is some kind of having some kind of crossbody bag and that makes it super easy for the airport and then just you know when you're going places and then you just have it right there kind of in front of you right. It's the same idea as a like a fanny pack but now people typically wear them crossbody or I do have one that's not supposed to be a fanny pack that's And so having just that phone with that pop socket, it fits right in there with some sunglasses and reading glasses and then chapstick, things like that. So it allows me to be able to carry less, I guess I would say. And then at airports and things like that, it just makes it super easy. So in that crossbody bag, I can have the phone and then if we're, you know, traveling internationally, you can have the passport. And then if it is a limited to like the three bags, it's something that can very easily slide into my backpack too.
00:07:37 SPEAKER_01
Yeah, I was just about to say that is remember the FAA does classify that as a personal item. So, you know, if you had two other things, you're going to have to take that off and consolidate it into another.
00:07:49 SPEAKER_00
Yeah. And they've asked me to do that before, but it, it fits. And so that's, that's the other thing. It's not like having a big purse and then the backpack. So that would be my next thing. But
00:07:59 SPEAKER_01
then it makes it super easy. Once you get there, you just take that out of whatever carry on you have, and then you have access to everything that you need right there
00:08:09 SPEAKER_00
in that little crossbody. Yeah, absolutely. And then I would say I didn't this is something that I didn't know that I needed. So this was actually a gift to me and not necessarily supposed to be for travel, but I turned it into travel. So for Mother's Day, Our son and his now wife gave me a little jewelry like a little small square zip up for jewelry So it has a little place for rings. It has a place that organizes your necklaces And so I don't carry a lot of jewelry when I travel but sometimes you like to have a few extra things and so it's small enough to be able to fit down in my, my carry on and another little sleeve I keep in there. So absolutely love that. It just has made it easy. And then things that I do take that I, you know, wear for travel, I've got a place to organize that. Then the next one is something that I have had probably for 10 plus years and it is a hanging toiletry kit. Oh, probably more than that. Then you're looking at me like, but you're looking
00:09:07 SPEAKER_01
at you. And I think you may have had this thing for 30 years.
00:09:10 SPEAKER_00
Oh yeah, maybe so. Actually, I probably had it before we even
00:09:15 SPEAKER_01
got married, didn't I? If not, you
00:09:17 SPEAKER_00
got it right after we got married. So it's a hanging toiletry kit and so basically it zips like in a u-shape and then opens up and then has a little hanger that you can hang up and it's just big enough to be able to carry like everything. And so I use that like if I'm, you know, if I'm going to check a bag, then I use that for all, you know, all the toiletries that I don't have to worry about, like sizes and stuff. I mean, I always try to carry the small sizes and I think I talked about that when we did the, you know, how to pack. on their packing list, like keeping everything, you know, these are kind of the things you always take and not taking big bottles and stuff like that. But then it's also so that if I, you know, just do take one bag or carry on or whatever, it will fit in there. And literally I can put, you know, brushes and toothbrush and then makeup and all that stuff down in there.
00:10:10 SPEAKER_01
And we should probably do a separate episode on packing, especially for international travel, because you were talking about the toiletries and stuff. And when you're traveling internationally, you can't just throw everything down into one of those bags. You need to be able to pack it a certain way. But we'll do another episode on that.
00:10:28 SPEAKER_00
Right. Um, yeah. And if we have taken stuff out and put it in, you know, the plastic bag or whatever, but like, for example, mostly if I'm checking it, but you're right, this is something that I have had and used for, you're right. Probably.
00:10:41 SPEAKER_01
Yeah. But I mean, all your brushes and your powdered makeup and stuff like that, that, you know, isn't subject to those liquids and gels and stuff like that. Got all that right there. And then when we get to the hotel, one of the first things you do is you unpack that, you unzip it, hang it up, and now you're ready to go.
00:10:58 SPEAKER_00
Yeah, you feel like you're just kind of settled. And so this is one of those things that I take if I'm going for one night or I'm going for six weeks, like this is it's going if I'm going to be gone overnight. Yeah.
00:11:09 SPEAKER_01
And I'd say for guys, you know, if if you're if you're like me, you don't have quite as much product and things that you're carrying with you. on a regular basis. This is the size of it's probably a little bit overkill for for, you know, a guy, but definitely it's something that you put into carry ons and it's something you put in packed luggage as well.
00:11:29 SPEAKER_00
And by the way, we will mention at this point, we'll mention it again, but all these things that we are talking about, they're going to be linked in the show notes. And then we also have a link. So you don't have to like go look for the show notes, but you can go to our website and all of these are like in Amazon storefront. And then we put it in a special place that says gift guide, like a gift guide. right? Because it's not just, yes, it can be a great for Christmas, but for people's birthdays, it can be great for your Black Friday shopping, but it'll be timeless. And then we'll kind of keep that updated as well, but that'll be easy for you to find as well. So, and then the next thing is something, again, now this is something that I bought for myself, but would be great for like stocking stuffers. I bought it for myself last year. It's the, I guess they're microfiber makeup erasers. And I bought like a set of seven that I use for home. I have we have gone on trips where i've taken a couple of those and taken them with me because you just never know What like the washcloth situation is going to be especially for you know, removing makeup and then also A lot of times they have the white towels and then you're running their white towels And so they're easily rinsed out and then if you're traveling You know just hang them up and they dry really quickly as well. So Their makeup eraser towels and so that would make a great just like a little you know to add in so if you're going to do like several of these things a little add-in or definitely a stocking stuffer. And then the next one is something that you actually bought for me last year for Christmas and it's called a cincha. It looks like a belt so what it does if you have a rolling suitcase and then you have another bag that doesn't have the what do you call it it's not a sleeve but well kind of like a sleeve right that would fit over your handle the cincha fits over the handle of your rolling back and then you basically cinch it around that other back. So like, for example, the backpack that I use does not have that. And so this is something that you could just put down in your suitcase or in your carry-on or whatever, and then just pull it out and then have that so you don't have to carry that. So it comes in lots of colors and lots of styles and stuff like that. So it's just a really genius idea to be able to Have that function. I
00:13:44 SPEAKER_01
call them beach bags. But you know, you see a lot of women get on the plane and they've got these kind of tote type bags or whatever that they're they're carrying. And there's no way to put that on your luggage to make it easy to will through the airport or whatever. And so what this does is it would, like Melissa said, it slides down over the handle and think of it almost like a safety belt. It just wraps around, you tighten it down. And now this bag that was before unwieldy or whatever is now strapped to your, your carry on rolling baggage and you can zip right to the airport and don't worry. You don't have to worry about it falling off and tipping over and
00:14:27 SPEAKER_00
spilling all your stuff out. And then the next one is a foldy bag. So
00:14:31 SPEAKER_01
think of that, uh, that bag that I was just talking about that is, is kind of a tote bag, but the foldy is it's a different version of that, that you can make bigger, you can make smaller, you can collapse it down. And I've mentioned this before, and
00:14:46 SPEAKER_00
I mentioned this, like in our packing tips is having a bag that you could, I mean, yes, you could use that as your carry on. as well, but this could also be something so you know that you're going to a place where you might be doing some shopping or doing some souvenirs or something like that. This is also a bag then that will fold up and then you can slide down in your luggage, but then maybe using it on the way home as well.
00:15:09 SPEAKER_01
Yeah, this was just be honest. This was something that popped up. Didn't know we needed it until we saw it on Instagram. It was advertised to us and it's like, Oh, that looks pretty cool. That would be great for travel. It can be really small or it can zip out and be a lot larger. It's got places for wet things to go in. So think of going to. Cancun or somewhere like that and maybe you want to get a swim in before you leave for the day You take your bathing suit put it into that pocket and now The rest of your stuff doesn't get wet
00:15:42 SPEAKER_00
Yeah, and it's also approved to be able to go under the seat of the airplane as well. So that's that's super handy. So just super multipurpose. And then so then down in my zip toiletry pouch that I talked about is I like to keep all my things like organized and different things and I actually keep my makeup all in a bag like all the time. And so just having a separate like cosmetic bag. So at home, I just put it under the counter. But then when I'm ready to go, I just take that whole thing. You know, once I get ready, I just take the whole thing and put it down in that zip bag. And so that just makes it super easy, convenient not to forget anything. It's got a place for, you know, brushes and it's so everything. So that is just a good thing for travel thing for home, but would really make a great gift.
00:16:31 SPEAKER_01
Yeah, like a stocking stuffer or something even.
00:16:34 SPEAKER_00
Yeah, or small gift or some kind of gift exchange or because like who doesn't, you know, like and need new, you know, bags and things like that. So this one's just pretty as well. And then recently I was looking for a new I don't know if we didn't move it or it got broken or what but a new like like cosmetic type mirror magnification mirror and I really didn't want anything that's like sat on the counter all the time and I had a hard time finding one and actually ended up finding this one on Amazon not expensive but it's very cool because it is very slim so it actually slides down in the back of that cosmetic case that I keep or the toiletry case I keep talking about And so it's super slim and then it's got the magnification mirror actually pops out and almost recesses right into the back. Then you pull it out and it's magnetic and goes onto the mirror to give you that little part of magnetic. But the greatest thing about it is it's rechargeable light. So you just plug it in, let it charge, it lasts forever. And then you just press the buttons and you've got light. But that's a great, again, you can use it for home, but it's a great travel mirror as well because it's so slim and the OctoRebel, I mean, it would last your whole trip. I mean, it lasts a month or more, you know, using it every, you know, a few times a week or something like that.
00:17:52 SPEAKER_01
So I think it's, you know, it's important because we've talked about a bunch of different things here, but all of this fits down into, uh, the, the small bags that we tend to carry on our trips. And, you know, we've done lots of episodes where we talk about taking as few things as possible, but as Melissa said, these things kind of nest into each other often, or they don't take up a lot of space and they're just essential items that are, you know, used all the time.
00:18:21 SPEAKER_00
And then the last one that is an absolute must for me really at home to keep saying that but especially when we travel. If I'm going to go somewhere and want to be using my phone and taking videos and then using the, you know, Google Maps and things like that. having a portable charger and not having to worry about that battery die. And so that is an absolute must for me. So we're going to put a couple of those in the in the show notes. Now, when I like the most recently is where I don't have to find a cord. Right. Because I drive you crazy with my cords having to get in now, especially with the new phone. Right. We've got the C instead of the lightning and then having it to have the right thing. So then having to carry the cord. Right. So I like the one that pull off that wallet and then it just magnets to the back and charges your phone and then you're done. So I will say so far, it does, those do not last as long. That would be my only thing. And sometimes the phones do get a little bit hot and it'll say, okay, until your phone cools down. So that's the only drawback. So like if you're going somewhere, so I did tell Scott this earlier, if I went to London, if I went to Disney world, I wouldn't rely on that. But if I'm gonna, just be gone somewhere for a little while where I know that like that would be enough, then that's my favorite. But for a longer term, I would go with one that you that you plug in.
00:19:48 SPEAKER_01
And most of those aren't intended to be full battery chargers. They're just intended to top you off and give you a little bit more of a battery charge. And in something that is a compact form factor that, you know, magnets onto the back of the phone. It's not meant to be your charging source. I don't know what Melissa does, but she chews through the battery on a phone faster than anybody I've ever seen in my life.
00:20:14 SPEAKER_00
Well, if you've seen all my reels and everything, I'm on my phone a lot creating content, but that is a must for me having a battery charger when I travel. And so that would also be a great gift, a great stocking stuffer, just depending on, and I think that could go on either less either list, you know, for men and for women. So now what else for men then? What do you want
00:20:35 SPEAKER_01
to know? It's in my bag.
00:20:37 SPEAKER_00
Yes, I want to know what's in your
00:20:39 SPEAKER_01
bag. All right. So honestly, every time that we travel, I have two different pieces of luggage that I normally use. I either use my Tumi international carry on, you know, four wheel roller bag. And that's, that's the one I use mostly for work because I'm having to carry it like a laptop bag as well. And I don't want to carry like my suitcase bag, you know into the office or whatever So I tend to carry the to me most often for that It's a great durable bag. My last to me bag had close to a million miles on it before I retired it so very very durable bags And then or else, like when we travel to Europe or if it's just Melissa and I going away for a weekend and we don't have to worry about carrying a, you know, a work bag or something like that, then we'll use our e-bags backpack. And, you know, those are the two go to's for me. And I would say that if you bought a traveler, either one of those, they would love you. Right. Because those are those are great bags to have. Yeah. Anybody
00:21:45 SPEAKER_00
you bought to me something for should absolutely love you. Yeah.
00:21:49 SPEAKER_01
Well, that's the one area that splurged, but the quality is phenomenal. No, you're
00:21:53 SPEAKER_00
right. It is. And they last a long time. So if you're not going to have to want to replace stuff, you know, and travel a lot. So you're
00:22:01 SPEAKER_01
absolutely right. The thing, you know, the handle works, the wheels always roll good. I just think it's a great. suitcase all around. But, you know, like I said, the e-bag backpack though is good because now I don't have to worry about clickety clack down the street when, you know, we're going places. Throw it on my back there and cinch it down and then, you know, good to go.
00:22:22 SPEAKER_00
And if we have not told you guys, like this fits as much as a standard carry on
00:22:26 SPEAKER_01
suitcase. And, and
00:22:27 SPEAKER_00
the, really the only thing you have to be concerned about is that. You know, can you tote it is filling it up too much? Can you tote it? And it's not, you know, you can carry it on, you can put it up in the compartment because then it doesn't have the, the square shape, the rectangle shape, right. Fits easily. So.
00:22:45 SPEAKER_01
I mean, it's possible that you could overfill this thing to where some airlines might say, this isn't a carry on anymore, but that's true with carry like my, to me, international carry on. And it's fully zipped up state. It's a carry on. If I expand it, I unzip it and let it expand. Wouldn't classify as as a carry on anymore. And so the backpack is no different.
00:23:09 SPEAKER_00
And so we do need to point out though, because I think we mentioned in another, like the packing episode when having, oh no, it was travel disruptions, the travel disruption episode when they made us check a bag. And in Europe, you cannot take as big bags, but those e-bags, we didn't have any trouble with those. They were just fine as well.
00:23:26 SPEAKER_01
And then if I'm having to carry a suit or a sport coat, I have a Tumi garment cover that I use as well. And so you put that suit or sport coat down in there, fold it over, zip it up, and then it'll fold up. I think the one I have folds three times. But it folds enough to where it fits right into my luggage, whether it's the e-bag or my carry on suitcase, you know, it fits right into that that luggage compartment. And so and then when you get there, funny enough, your stuff isn't wrinkled. And I think it has something to do with the fabric of the garment cover. But that's something you should really have. And it's a great gift item, you know, for that traveler, especially someone who travels a lot for work and may have to carry a sport coat or, you know, a suit or something like that with them. And then, you know, talking about just continuing on in the packing piece of that packing cubes, those are essential. And, you know, they're great for putting your different maybe you want to put your like underwear and socks and stuff like that, workout clothes into one. You want to put your shorts and shirts and pants and stuff like that into another one. These things are really good. They also run a little bit of a danger because You can put more stuff into your suitcase because you're being a little more organized. And then all of a sudden you'll see the weight of your suitcase increase. So same space, but, you know, greater weight. And so you do have to be a little bit careful. But I like it because one of the things that I do is when I'm going, you know, I organize my stuff that way. But then when I come back, I'll take one and put my dirty clothes into that And then things that I may not have worn or I didn't wear as much and I plan to re-wear or something other, I'll put it into another so that I'm not packing those two together. And so I enjoy having them for that reason.
00:25:28 SPEAKER_00
Yeah, that's a great point. Just keeping everything organized. If you do not use packing cubes, you have got to get some packing cubes and try this. It really is a game changer for packing, for just being organized at the hotel, especially if you are going on a trip where you don't stay in one location too.
00:25:48 SPEAKER_01
You can buy just a bunch of smaller ones and then like for your kids, put outfits in there and you know, a day by day type thing and just pull those out and put them in a drawer when you get there. And then when you need it, just take it out and, and go, I like to say it's like having
00:26:04 SPEAKER_00
a chest of drawers in your suitcase. Yeah. Instead of just having clothes like flying everywhere.
00:26:10 SPEAKER_01
And so then when I think about packing the next item, this was a gift that was given to me. I will say I may not have bought it for myself, but since it was a gift, I use it all the time now. And matter of fact, I actually just leave it packed in my bag, but I was given a, to me travel kit. And so this is a kit where you can put your deodorant and your toothpaste and you know, all of those types of things. It's not the free
00:26:35 SPEAKER_00
one they gave out on Delta though.
00:26:37 SPEAKER_01
Yeah, this is not the free one they gave out on Delta. But, you know, it was a it was a very nice gift. And I keep it packed in my bag, ready to go because I keep an extra set of everything. So they don't have to worry about, did I grab this? Did I pack that? You know, I've got an extra razor, everything already ready to go inside my bag. So it's always there when, when I get there, but you know, very nice gift that you can give somebody who travels a lot and, you know, very appreciated.
00:27:10 SPEAKER_00
And the nice thing about the Toomey is that then you can take it to a Toomey store and then there's a little piece on it that they'll put the monogram or the initials on and stuff like that. So then it makes a super personalized gift. Or if you got it ahead of time, you could take it and have it done and then give it.

And I can pretty much tell that this is going to be one of those things that I use for the next 20, 30 years. It's very high quality and something that they'll have for a very long time. You know, moving on from packing, let me talk a little bit about accessories. I love accessories, right? Especially when it comes to things like tech. Technology and stuff like that, you know, and I do have like the Melissa talked about her the case on her phone and the the popsocket wallet I've got that as well, but since she covered it I didn't but one of the things that I use and now Melissa uses is is a tri-fold 3-in-1 charger. So think about it, you have your cell phone, you have your smartwatch, you have your earbuds, right? Your Bluetooth earbuds that you use. And all of these things now can be charged wirelessly. And at home, we have stands that we use to put all those things on at night, and you lean your phone up against it, you put your watch up on a little hook thing, and then there's a little place to set your AirPods or whatever, and all that'll charge. Well, that's a big piece to actually carry with you on your trip. And so what I found about a year ago were these little foldable ones that had three three things and then they you know tri-fold folds up into a little small square and then you plug your cord and into the wall and these things work great So when you get to the hotel, you just lay it out flat, you pop up the little thing for your watch, and when you get ready to go to bed, just lay your phone down, hook your watch on there, and then set your AirPods there. And that is the fastest way, easiest way, most convenient way to charge all of your devices right there in this one thing at the end of the day.
00:29:27 SPEAKER_00
And then that way you don't have to worry about having so many cords and having enough plugs and all
00:29:34 SPEAKER_01
that. One cord, one plug, and it charges all those three things. When you're done, you fold it back up and it goes into my next thing is I have a little leather pouch. The one that I've gotten, I've got was given to me, I think from a vendor or something like that, but it has a zipper on the top and then I put all of my gadgets and gear down inside there. So that little foldable charger goes in, all of my cords. So I do carry like an iPhone charging cable and sometimes I'll carry my smartwatch charger as well. And then extra, you know, headphones, stuff like that. And I put them all down in this little zipper pouch and that goes straight into my backpack. It keeps everything organized a lot of times when you're traveling and you go to the airport They want you to pull all that stuff out and run it separately. And so it's all right there together It's all neatly organized. I pull it out of my bag put it in the tray and I'm done
00:30:35 SPEAKER_00
Yeah. And that's just great. Like just in case you need a charger, you know, for the plane or something's happened, you know, you don't have your remote or yeah, that's true. In the rental car, you get in the car and you need to plug it up or you know, your headphones die or something like that. And you've got to just a convenient way. I didn't mention it because I also have something very similar to that, that I use and just having it all in one place is just a game changer.
00:30:57 SPEAKER_01
You're not like, where is this? And you know, searching through your bag when you need to find a cord.
00:31:01 SPEAKER_00
And really those two things, I mean, from anybody who is age enough to have a phone that they're going to charge all the way till anybody who has a phone, right? That would be great gift for anybody. Yep. And also something generic, right? So if you have to take it, some kind of generic gift somewhere and you know, you know, they travel or they have a phone or whatever. I mean, it'd be a great thing that they may not have seen. It's just very unique. Yeah,
00:31:25 SPEAKER_01
and so in our storefront, we did find a really neat case for all of your tech gear and stuff like that to help keep them organized. And so we do have that out there. Now, the next thing is once you get on the airplane, right? So one of the things that I hate is you get on the airplane, they've got the screen there. And for whatever reason, you don't have your plug-in headphones. A lot of us now, if you think about it, if you have a new iPhone, there's no 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on that device whatsoever. You've had an iPhone in the last three, four years, none of them have that jack anymore. And so now you've got, even if you've got a set of corded headphones that worked with an iPhone, there's nothing to plug them into because you need that 3.5 millimeter jack.
00:32:23 SPEAKER_00
Well, and I think for a while it came with the one that came off, right? But the new phone, you don't get headphones, right? Because they want you to get, you know.
00:32:31 SPEAKER_01
Yeah, they're pushing you towards wireless headphones, which is fine. So anyhow, to solve that problem, I found this great little device. It's called an AirFly. And you plug that into the headset, a hole on the back of the seat, and you flip it on. And so it now creates a Bluetooth connection to your own personal headphones. So whether you're using AirPods or like myself, I like to carry with noise canceling headphones. So I've got a pair of JBL over the ear headphones that I carry. And in that case, it just connects to it through Bluetooth. And now you can start immediately watching on the on the screen. Now, I know certain airlines have started making it to where you could connect your own personal Bluetooth headphones into the to the seat backs. We tend to fly Delta mostly, and that is not the case. I think this is a terrific gift. The other cool thing, though, is that, well, like
00:33:35 SPEAKER_00
when I get up to go to the bathroom here, Scott's not having to like unplug the headphones and because that's such a pain. So you just get up and let people buy and you don't have to fiddle with
00:33:46 SPEAKER_01
And I would say Delta's usually pretty good about as you're getting on the plane, they stand there with the little, you know, basket of headphones and they'll give you headphones as you're, as you're boarding. But think about it, all those things end up in our landfills and stuff like that because, you know, inevitably you're going to forget that. Like that's not part of your everyday technology that you use. And so now we've got a bunch of that crap just going into our landfills and I'd like to avoid that. So. You know, it's nice having and being able to use your own technology. Plus the fact that, like I said, I use noise canceling headphones, so it tunes out the roar of the engine and all of the noise around you, especially if you've got maybe somebody who's really noisy, you know, sitting near you or whatever. It tunes all that out. You can just kind of relax and then, you know, enjoy the TV or the show or something like that. Plus those ones they give
00:34:40 SPEAKER_00
you hurt your they are not comfortable in your ears either. Yeah,
00:34:43 SPEAKER_01
which is kind of why I've switched to the over the air. But yeah, you're right.
