Here's our Stress Free and Money Saving Tips for Holiday Travel
BEFORE YOUR TRIP
- Pack holiday-themed activities or movies to keep kids occupied during the trip and when you arrive!
- If traveling with young children, find creative ways to reassure them that Santa will find them wherever they are!
- Download airline, hotel, and car rental apps and be sure to create logins and have reservations loaded
- Use online check-in and mobile boarding passes to save time.
- Check in for your flight and confirm your flight or travel details a day before and again the morning of your trip (some airlines charge to check in at the airport and more to check bags when you arrive)
- Sign up for alerts from your airline or travel provider for real-time updates

- If you have access to lounges through a credit card be sure you’ve signed up for it ahead of time
PACK SMART
- Keep essentials (ID, tickets, medications, chargers, and anything you’ll need immediately) in your carry-on
- Bring a portable charger
- If you're traveling with gifts, avoid wrapping them if they are in your carry- on security might ask you to open them.

ON THE TRAVEL DAYS
- Allow extra time for holiday traffic en route to the airport and extra time for parking
- Arrive Early and Plan for Longer Lines to drop bags and get through security
- Remember a lot of credit cards give credits for TSA Precheck and Clear so don't let those go to waste
- If you end up getting through in a breeze, enjoy the lounge
- Crowds can be stressed, and stressful, but maintaining a positive attitude helps you and others - consider bringing along something to brighten the day for staff and flight attendants and parents or kids who are having a hard time.
- Plan something special upon arrival or enjoy the uniqueness of traveling during the holidays.

- Keep a positive attitude but be prepared for delays and inconveniences and just in case
- Bring snacks and a water bottle in case of unforseen turbulance.
- Know what your travel insurance and/or credit card coverage will cover just in case - often it will cover baggage delay, hotels for trip delay and more.
